Morning everyone - i hope your creative heads are in a healthy space.

I predominently bought LR simply in order to organize my photos using tags - as for me (being an experience hobbiest) I rarely go out to shoot anything specific - named folders alone just dont work. My camera goes with me to the beach, or fishing for example - i want to be able to pull out at a later date ''waves, sunsets, family, fish'' etc.

Its possibly also woth noting that due to the time restraints of family life and slap dash nature of what im photographing that i'll by default have way more material that needs discarding than keeping. With that in mind you can imagine what my filling system has looked like at times!

I still havnt established a workflow whereby i can quickly flick through my photos, delete whats obviously trash and then tag/edit the one's i'd like to keep.

I understand the non-intrusive premis of LR, it feeds in from a location and wont change the file unless exported to another location (I want to do this as part of my workflow).

I've also got the creative cloud synch on pause, as otherwise it will be cluttered with material i want to discard.

Can anyone suggest or elaborate on their workflow's something i can try to fit with the above? Seems a pretty simple ask but i just cant get my head around what I'm after!

I'm desperate to start going through / organising my material in order to share, print for family - hell maybe even start showcasing further afield but know if I cant get things in order it'll get real messy and put me off taking any more 😞

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks all - happy snapping!
