iCloud Photo Library s primary Lightroom Lightroom catalogue

Hi guys,

first of all, Lightroom CC is no doubt the best app when it comes to photo editing tools. However, I HATE having two different library's on one device. Other apps like Darkroom App etc. are able to base their entire workflow on the default iOS (iCloud) photos library. I don't want to import any sort of photos from Apple Fotos on to the library on Lightroom. I find that to be inconvenient,

the best case scenario would be this: I Open Lightroom CC on any device (Mac, iPhone or iPad) and get to see my iOS (iCloud) photos library. Then I chose a picture and start the editing. Or merge photos into a panorama a or whatsoever.

even if adobe people think their cloud would be the better solution, for a lot of people it is not. At least give me the option to choose if I'd rather base everything into the photos library or create a catalogue inside of Lightroom. I don't mind paying the premium price for having the Lightroom tools as a app, but I really hate this solution of having two separate photo library's when it could be just one.

thank you for your attention.

Lightroom is not just an image editor, it is a photo management app like Apple Photos. Image editing is just a part of that. That is why Lightroom needs to use its own image organisation, and cannot use the Apple Photos library. Lightroom has Adobe Sensei for example, the artificial intelligence running in its cloud. Sensei auto tags your photos, so you can search on keywords even without having to enter any keywords.

If you use Lightroom, then it's best not to use Apple Photos. If you do not like that, then you should seriously consider not using Lightroom, because Lightroom and Photos do not play well together and never will. They are competitors, not buddies.

Thanks for your reply.

However Lightroom primary is a editing tool. And considered that many people only use it for editing, and like to both store and organize their photos somewhere else, I wanted to share this idea to give the option as suggested above, using the photos sei or so from Apple to have Apple / Photos organize the photos and Lightroom edit them.
