P: Bring back the old export menu.

The new export menu requires more clicks.

I used to be able to tap on (I'm paraphrasing because I can't 100% remember the wording) "export to photos app" and it would remember my chosen file format for that export destination. And when I choose "export to files app" it remembered my chosen file format for that too.

As in, I could just choose one of those two to export in the file format I want. I work with TIFF when I edit in other apps, which is when I export to the files app. And I export jpeg to the photos app when I have my finished edit.

the new menu forces me to switch back and forth and is more cumbersome. I do not see it as being better or more convenient.

I hope you can bring back the old menu.

Hello @just eirik,

This functionality is still available in Lr 8.4.

You could set up "Save copy to device" option to save to camera roll as e.g. jpeg files. And set up "Export as..." option to export to "Save to Files" destination in TIFF format. Both options should maintain their settings (selected file format for export).

Best regards,

Elmira

Oh I see it now. Yes, that is better than I thought. I want to point out that when you use the "export" option, there still is more taps involved (unless I'm misremembering how it was before.

before when you tapped on "export to files app" the export progress bar would appear, and then the files app would appear so you could choose a folder to export to.

Now when you use export, you get the window which the file format and quality settings, then you're asked what app you want tot export to,  then all the other stuff appears.

I guess what I'm saying is, I really disslike when more friction is introduced in an update. It doesn't feel good. It's not ruining the app, but its annoying.

Thanks for pointing out the "save to device" option though!

I just realized the help URL I shared needed a correction.  I updated my original reply.
