P: Direct import of presets

Community Beginner ,
Jul 16, 2022 Jul 16, 2022

Could it be possible to add professional and community supported presets directly from mobile Lr without the need of owning the desktop version of the app and performing a sync?

Now that Apple will allow file management, a download manager, and unzipping in the upcoming iOS 13 release, I wonder if we will be able to import presets into Lightroom Mobile without the need for a computer.

It would be nice to import and export CUBE and 3DL files. I'm currently unable to import film simulation presets that I want to use in Lightroom Mobile.

In newer versions of iOS (I can’t remember exactly when the features were added) we got the ability to download files from websites directly to the Files app and then open them in other apps. So I downloaded presets thinking I could import them directly into the Lightroom Mobile app, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to do that. I don’t own a computer so I can’t do it the traditional way. I’m an iPhone and iPad only user. I really need a way to import these presets I’ve download into Lightroom Mobile. It seems liked a pretty straight forward solution. The files are there. I just need to be able to open them now.

This is a basic and necessary feature that is only available for Android, it is very strange and uncomfortable. Or at least indicate somewhere that the number of functions on iOS is less than on Android. Hope to see this feature soon, thanks.

Please add a way for me to add and import Lightroom Presets via my iPhone and/or iPad using the files saved on my devices. Doesn't make sense to require Desktop use to import files I have saved locally on these devices. Or make the iPad version of Lightroom CC the same as the desktop in terms of use and function. This will make use between devices more seamless.

thanks!

Hi. For a long time now, it has been possible to import presets in the XMP format on Android for Lightroom, but this option is still not available on iOS! Please add the ability to import XMP presets on iOS/iPadOS, as many people do not use a computer and it would be a great convenience if they could import XMP presets on their iPhone or iPad.

Thanks
