I'm soon getting one of those phones that can do 50MP dng files, it's still a phone so there won't be much detail if viewed 1:1, so I have no trouble using LRs lossy dng compression on this (as this is almost lossless anyway and a very smart algorithm, only reducing if it is possible (high ISO photos don't compress well cause noise is interpreted as detail, which is fine)).
But that's something only LR on desktop can do, after the photo went through the cloud, on my limited data plan or my slow upload rate on Wifi.
So how about giving us the following options for the mobile app:
- give us the options to convert to lossless and lossy compressed dng on the mobile device
- option for autoconvert by filetype and folder (always compress dng files found in the camera folder on import)
This would save me a lot of manual steps and make the upload much easier. There difference between 100MB and 12MB does matter (especially with not visible loss of detail).
