The latest version of the Lightroom Mobile app on my iPhone prompted me to tell me I could now simply work with the Photos app on Lightroom Mobile. I no longer needed to allow it to automatically add photos to Lightroom, they could simply stay where they were and I could edit them on the mobile app.
It did come with a warning though that this wouldn't be a good idea if I wanted to use Lightroom Classic.
However that's exactly what I want to do.
I suspect one can't simply add an option to the iPhone camera to say "just store this in Lightroom, don't worry about the Camera Roll".
I wonder if it would be possible instead to have an option that says "if you see it in Camera Roll simply import it to Lightroom and then delete it from Camera Roll". Which effectively means that Lightroom Mobile sends all the images to the cloud and becomes my primary point of looking at images. Then it would allow me to continue with my PC setup where my main catalog is in Lightroom Classic and view and edit any incoming images from my iPhone.
At the moment I need to periodically go into Camera Roll and delete the images that have been imported to Lightroom which is an annoying extra step to do every now and again.
