P: "compare" view -- pick and move on

The compare view is a good help for picking out a single image from a long sequence, but it could be improved. 

 

I want a way of picking a favorite from the two currently visible. Doing so would keep that image and swap out the other one for the next previously unviewed image in the batch. Like in the attached gif, more or less.

 

With images 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 selected, compare would start by showing 1 and 2. I pick my favorite of those two (let's say 1). Now it's showing 1 and 3. 3 is better, so I pick that one. Now it shows 3 and 4. I still prefer 4, so now it's 3 and 5. 5 was out of focus, so 3 is better. Now it's showing 3 and 6. Etcetera, until only one image remains.

Here is a work around.

Select the image you do NOT like. Then hit the right arrow. This will go to the next image....

Have you tried the Swap button at the top of the screen. You do then need to press the right arrow to see the next photo, and Swap really needs a keyboard shortcut, but it might get you a bit closer to what you're trying to do.
