P: Restore the (previous) Edit UI as an option on Lightroom Mobile

Lightroom has switched itself to the "streamlined"ui, mentioned here: https://blog.adobe.com/en/publish/2023/07/26/adobe-photoshop-lightroom-has-new-mobile-interface-make... and the option to turn it off no longer appears, the option previously appeared. I don't want to be forced into this interface change, it is honestly worse as a ui and I can't even change my images to the correct profile with it (the default Adobe Color profile is way off and is inaccurate).

Functions/features that have been removed: Profile (changing raw profiles, NB: 'presets' are not profiles), Rate and Review, Info, Lens correction CA and lens profiles and geometry options etc.

Bring this option back immediately,  the new "streamlined" interface is not streamlined at all, it requires additional taps and is less efficient. It is an absolute joke to remove access to many functions/features and then lock out people from changing back.

I have had to uninstall Lightroom and sideload the version 8.5.2 apk from a third party source just to be able to continue working again which means I lost the locally stored data which has to be downloaded again.

To re-iterate even if the missing functions are added into the ui, it is still a bad ui and we should have the option of using the "old" ui. Streamlined - "having been made simpler and more efficient or effective.". The new ui is not streamlined, burying functions behind sub menus requiring additional taps is less efficient and effective and requires more work. Making the ui simpler by removing functions is not the same as making something simpler by making it more efficient (requiring additional taps/clicks is less efficient if this isn't clear enough)

I have a lot of issues with the recent update in regards to UI (for example, it takes three clicks now to get to "vignette" where before it was one, the "lock ratio" option in cropping is now buried in an additional menu, etc.) but what has really made this update unusable for me is the insane amount of lag when cropping. I'm on a current-year flagship phone, there is no reason I should be experiencing such intense lag when cropping a photo in this app. I actually cannot crop my photos the lag is so bad.

Additionally, there is now haptic feedback when using adjustment sliders, and I see no way to turn that off. It's incredibly distracting.

This update to make the UI look "cleaner" in my opinion has actually made it look much worse, with the added bonus of disrupting workflow because everything is buried in more and more menus.

Can anyone tell me if there's an option to roll back my app version?

And what about the rest of the issues (luminance histogram missing, lag when cropping, option to opt out of this new UI, ability to roll back update)?

Oh, also the inability to turn off haptic feedback on adjustment sliders?

The flag and rating section has been moved into the back menu. It's now harder to reach. Please bring it back.

The new edit UI also doesn't support landscape orientation

Not to forget that looking aspect ratio (that shouldn't be unlocked by default anyway) now requires 2 more tabs per image (1: opening submenu in crop tool, 2: locking 3: confirmation to leave submenu back to crop menu).

Question remains: is anyone from the team actually using/testing this software?

There are so many things needed to make it easier like:

- mulitple photo autoadjustments

- 90 degree rotation of multiple photos

- calculation of copied ai masks

- auto level on multiple photos

Instead you make the software less efficient.

One cannot scroll through the list of "edit tools when the edit tab is selected.

also, this "new" theme of the app is not efficient, or intuitive, nor is it what a photographer wants to wrestle with.

Also, why was the ability to edit in landscape removed? Did this "refresh" receive any testing or feedback from actual Lightroom users?

So the question stands M@Adobe.....

we are paying customers some of whom may rely on the stability of the adobe products that they pay a monthly subscription to.... will this UI be reversed? Or an option provided to rollback to a stable, landscape friendly, feature available version of Lightroom mobile?

and then also given credit toward two weeks of adobe use because the product was altered in a way that broke the legitimate use of this product, and then no quick work was done to rectify serious issues that users faced when interacting with the application.

Da quando è stata introdotta l'interffaccia degli strumenti semplificata il mio workflow è peggiorato, c'è modo di tornare alla vecchia interfaccia di lavoro che mostrava tutti gli strumenti?

The new editing layout takes way too much screen space imo, because there are now two, sometimes three menu bars stacked vertically instead of one. I get that it might make stuff "cleaner", but I still highly prefer the previous single menu bar over three that eat into my screen. It is also now more taps to navigate through effect controls.

And the whole UI is gone if the phone is in landscape now? I edited 50/50 in portrait and landscape, so I do genuinely not understand where this idea even came from. You could already remove the UI yourself by a single tap! Now you can't even click the back button in landscape, and you gotta turn your phone to portrait to exit to the gallery.

Please make an option to get the old editing layout back!!! "Legacy editing layout" 🥺

The new interface is cluttering the screen too much  that you can't even see the whole picture anymore because the whole ui is cover almost half the screen. IT IS IRRITATING!

The combined rating and info screen is also annoying me: If I go there for the Exif data I immediately scroll up intuitively to get to that data, but doing that on the image of course changes the rating, leaving me with the question "Did I just change the rating of this photo? What was it before? Did it have a rating before".

Of course rating photos with up and down gestures isn't so bad (although people I hand my tablet and telling them "here you can rate you photos" tend to rate by accident when they want to scroll through, and the issue that if you scroll to fast after rating, the rating gets applied to the next photo and not the one it was meant to).

But for the info screen where I just want to view the data or exposure settings it's disctracting if I just want to get that info card fully visible. Maybe not the smartest move to combine those two. If I want to rate I don't need the data, if I need the data I don't really want to rate. Not much sense to put these two together, especially when the control of the two interferes with each other.

It's so annoying that i have to go into info and rating to be able to pick or unpick the photos. Not user friendly at all.

Thé éliminai nation of the on photo menu makes the program much slower and inefficient in daily use.  Is there a way to get the old on image menus back?

Since the last update there is a lot less real estate for editing portrait shots. Whenever I try to make an edit I can't see about 1/3 of the photo because of the overlay, which is just stupidly annoying.

I know that as I press a button the interface fades out, but I really want to be able to see the whole photo while the menu is opened.

It would be really helpful to be able to zoom out or position the photo so it's always fully visible

Also, the undo icon is now slightly on top of the photo, which is visually not very pleasant

Btw rotating the crop area (landscape <-> portrait) is, like the aspect lock, also too deep in the menu, for a frequently usesd function.

It even took my a while to think "oh, where did they put this now" and I probably have to think again next time I need it.

This new interface is shocking - having to hunt for features that were 1 click away (rate/review), multiple clicks to do a one click action before.

I would like to encourage everyone to write these complaints in reviews on the appstore, that might wake some of the devs up

Adobe Lightroom Mobile feels like paying to be part of a beta test lately.

Maybe we will get adjustments in later releases, like the issues with the new album structure have been (partially) fixed but this should have been done internally and not after the final release of the paid version to the public.

If Adobe does not have the staff for it they could open a public beta program for the users who have the nerves for that, and even offer a discount on the monthly rate for participation. But keep those beta releases from the public that want to rely on the app to work.
