Color artifacts in Lightroom CC for iPad

I am getting these weird colored squares in my photos in Adobe Lightroom CC for iPad version 4.0.2 on my iPad Pro 11”. The photos are simple jpegs. The squares usually disappear when zooming in on them but return again when switching back and forth between photos. These squares are present also in photos exported to the camera roll.

Hi,

this issue will be fixed in our upcoming release.

To "fix" the issue for thumbnails showing this issue, you need to change a setting - e.g. toggle Optics/Lens corrections for the image.

Thanks,
Ignacio

Your screen capture doesn’t seem to have come through properly. Can you try it again?

i haven’t seen any reports of similar issues, but it sounds like a bad preview. Except, bad Previews should be affecting exports to the camera roll.

Let me try that again. Here is a screenshot with a light blue rectangle in the sky. This one comes and goes when zooming in but is definetly present when exporting to camera roll. The original file does not have this artifact and is a jpeg file.

Strange indeed. I wonder if this is some bug with the new iPad Pro. The only thing I could recommend trying is Settings > Local Storage > Clear Cache.

Akash Sharma, have you heard of this before? Should this be submitted in a bug report?

Thank you for the tip, unfortunately the cache was empty so nothing to clear. I tried exporting the same picture multiple times and the artifacts are not always present in the resulting file. I seem to get these artifacts in maybe every ten picture.

I have seen another report of this and also had it myself (although at the time I thought it was the iPhone 6 camera).

I cannot recreate unfortunately, will have a dig around a bit further to see if I can.

Thanks for the update, nice to hear that this will be fixed soon. I’ve tested around a bit and it seems like the tip to toggle lens correction does the trick. Compared with zooming in and out, changing this setting seems to fix the issue permanently for the photo in question as far as I can tell.

Thank you very much for fast support as well as a good temporary fix!
