This has worked on and off as versions have been introduced. I am up to date on both apps, but now I try to share to IG and a message pops up saying: -  

Version after version there is always something - go make nice with Facebook!

Hi,

this is a known issue, until it has been solved it might help to do a haptic touch on the Instagram icon and trigger the Open in App.

Please note that there can be many reasons for the failure:
1. no access to Photos over Instagram app
2. device restart needed for Instagram Share extension
