Today I upgraded version 5.40 to use my iPhone, and all the more than 7000 photos stored locally in the software were deleted! How is this going? Why is the 100GB creative cloud storage space in the original software inaccessible?

Hi,
It would help if you could give us some more information.
Does the images reappear after a while?
If you e.g. tap on the cloud icon, does it say syncing?
thanks,
Ignacio

One more thing, if you have uploaded e.g. 100Gb on your Creative Cloud, those will count to the 100Gb quota for Lightroom too.
Thanks,
Ignacio

Thanks for the reply. After I finished the upgrade, the local storage space was cleaned up and there were no files. The local storage space and cache are both 0GB, all presets are gone, and there is no sync, The software shows that you can use advanced functions, but you cannot use creative cloud functions. But I purchased premium features

Do not uninstall the app. The Lightroom team are working on a fix

I doubt if you would have much luck, but you can try this:
Alternatively, do you back up to iCloud, and if so, one option could be to wipe your device and restore from a backup previous to the Lightroom 5.4.0 Update, which I think was August 18th?
This though may not be as smooth as it sounds and could lead to other non-Lightroom issues.
Or maybe use a spare device and restore from an old iCloud back up and see if that works?
