Any way to sort as well as filter

i am sorting through my wedding photos.

I have many photos on the same day -- but Lightroom CC appears to show them in varying orders, and certainly not by 'capture date' which is in the metadata

surely lightroom cc has a sort capability? I wasn't able to find it?

Assuming you're talking about the LRCC desktop app, the sort options are on the toolbar below the grid:
