Cant import images

I am on the education free handout version of Adobe suite with my university (which they are extending themselves) but I cant upload images to Lightroom on Mac. It is greyed out and says I have over 1900 images (which I definitely don't as I have not used Lightroom with this account on my Mac before). Can anyone help?

With education versions you may be restricted importing into Lightroom. Contact your University's administrator.

Could the photos be there from any Lightroom Mobile imports on the same account?
