Copy to destination folder partial failure

When importing, say, 100 photos to my destination folder, there are usually 5 or 6 that generate a 'could not save to destination folder because the disk is not writable...'

The destination folder *is writable because the other 95 photos went there!

Neither is the destination folder full - because when I try importing those remaining photos a second time, it works.

Any advice?

Sounds like a hard drive failure, a permissions problem or conflict from other applications.

Which operating system do you have?

If energy saving sleep mode is enabled, try disabling it. Turn off non-essential background processes like real-time backups and anti-virus scanning.
