Dear specialists,

is there anybody who knows how I can move from lightroom 6 to lightroom cc (with 1TB cloud storage)?

Up to now I have used lightroom 6 for a long time. In lightroom 6 I can see the folders of my pictures organised on my iMac. The structure is the same as I can see in finder on my iMac.

Now I want to use lightroom cc. I have installed it on my iMac and it is running.

How can I transfer from lightroom 6 to lightroom cc. I want to see the same folder stricture and I want to use the work that I have made with lightroom 6 so far as possible.

Any idea? Your help is needed. I do not know what I habe to do.

best regards from Bremen in Germany!

To Migrate your Catalog to the Cloud Based Lightroom CC you will first need to upgrade to Lightroom Classic.

Then follow the steps outlined here:

Migrate photos and videos from Lightroom Classic CC to Lightroom CC

In view of your comments about your Folder structure, pay particular attention to the instructions regarding making Collections from Folders.

Adobe don‘t recommend using Classic (traditional Lightroom) and the Cloud Based CC together. A few do, but for most it’s a choice of one or the other.

There may be functions that you use regularly that are missing from CC, so do as much research as you can before Migrating.

Mmmh. That sounds difficult. So I do need to decide either classic cc or cc.

I have decided for cc, first. But now I see, that I do need features of classic cc. For example a folder structure that is simular with my finder (imac) structure and has also the same names.

So I have to say Ade to the big 1TB cloud.
