Hi.
I'm running lightroom CC on win 10 off my 512gb SSD which is my C:/ Drive. In lightroom, I have checkmarked the option to store a copy of all originals at the default location, which is "C:\Users\xyz\Pictures\LRimport". Lately the LRImport folder size has gone upwards of 270GB.
Recently I purchased another SSD and moved the location of original copies to "D:\Pictures\LRImport". Now that all my originals are on another drive, my C drive has a lot of space freed, but there is also a massive folder called "proxies" containing about 60.9gb of data which is in "C:\Users\xyz\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom CC\Data\8c42238ae56c4d75ae54786c5c175d76\". and there is also a 20.8gb folder containing Camera Raw Cache located at "C:\Users\xyz\AppData\Local\Adobe\CameraRaw\Cache2".
Can anyone tell me what the "Proxies" and "Cache2" folders are for, and can they be safely deleted to save space on my drive without losing any of my work/data on lightroom?
Thanks 🙂

Hello, I just wrote a tutorial to explain how to specify an alternate location for proxy/Smart Preview storage: https://community.adobe.com/t5/Lightroom/Tutorial-How-to-Store-Proxies-in-Alternate-Location-in-Ligh.... This would allow you to tell Lightroom to move all of the proxies to your new SSD.
