How to delete files from disk? (Lightroom 3.4)

I'm trying to delete raw files from my disk using Lightroom. But if I press the delete key (Mac) I'm only shown a prompt saying "Delete 1 photo, Are you sure you want to delete this photo from: Your Lightroom photos, Your albums and shares. Deleted photos can be restored for 60 days. If not restored within 60 days, photos are permanently deleted." However, this doesn't seem to remove the underlying files to the Trash; it just removes them from Lightroom. This used to be possible in older versions of Lightroom... Any tips?

What kind of photos are these? Files you have added to Lightroom but are still on yuor hard disk? Lightroom stores the images in the cloud. It does not manage photos on your local disk. You can delete them using the Finder.

P.S. When you talk about 'older versions of Lightroom', you mean a different application that is now called Lightroom Classic.
