With some of my photos in LR,  they look noticeably sharper in Develop mode than when in Library mode.  Since they are exported from Library mode, that is a concern.  Any suggestions?

In Lightroom-Classic:  Previews in the Library Module are not used in the Develop module. And when you Export- Lightroom reads the original photo file and applies the Develop edits, so the "look" will be as per Develop module. The exported file however will exhibit effects of Export settings. eg. JPG compression, pixel size reduction, etc.

I would think that Lightroom works the same.

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 13.2 Photoshop 25.5, ACR 16.2, Lightroom 7.2, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 14.0.2, Windows-11.
