I am using LR on my Mac and I pay for the 1TB storage. I am trying to upload photos but it is notifying me that there is not enough storage on my Mac to import. If they upload straight from an SD card to LR why am I having this issue? There is plenty of storage available in LR.

Lightroom does not do the sync upload directly from the memory card (that would be a bad idea), so the images are first copied to hard drive into the local LR Library, and it's from there that they are uploaded to the cloud. The default location for the copy of the originals is on the system drive, but that can be changed in the Lightroom Preferences. Have a read of the last post in this thread, it should help you understand how it works: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom/remove-originals-after-lightroom-cc-migration/td-p/11086784...

Although that thread was initially concerning the space issues when doing a catalog migration from Classic to Lightroom, the same issues apply also to imports from memory cards into Lightroom.
