Lightroom desktop not working "cancelling 3 activities in progress"

My lightroom desktop is not working. It says it is cancelling 3 activities in progress but nothing is loading and i can't cancel it either. It isnt responding and i am not able to quit the app. What do i do?

Hi there,

That does not sound good, could you please let us know the version of Lightroom you're using?
Have you tried restarting the computer?
