Lightroom on iphone & mac

I have lightroom on my iphone - i'm currently on the free trial but move across to paid monthly subscription shortly. I want to be able to use it on my Macbook pro as well. But when I click 'restore purchase' on my mac it says it can't restore as no purchase has been made?? Surely you pay 1 but can use it across devices? Thanks

If you purchased via the App Store on the iPhone, this is for mobile devices only.

To include Lightroom Desktop, you need to buy from Adobe or from the Mac App Store.

It's twice the price of the Mobile plan but also includes a 1TB or cloud storage.
