old version of Lightroom - can I update?

Someone just gifted me an unopened older version of Lightroom version2.0. I installed in onto my computer last night, but cannot update it. Any idea if this software can be updated and how to do so?

You cannot update it. You can upgrade to a much higher version, but that would be the same as simply starting with this higher version, because you probably don't have anything in Lightroom yet.
