steps to resolution already tried: alt+shift at start to reset user preferences and then closing out cc lightroom and restarting the application
result: user still unable to add photos, option still greyed out, file function still does not let user add photo
looking for solution

When did this start happening? Have you ever been able to add images? Are you signed in to the creative cloud application manager? What version of Lightroom are you using?

1.We are using the Creative Cloud Version of lightroom.
2 This started October 23rd
3. Yes we were able to add photos before this point.
4. We are signed into Creative Cloud, we run application from the creative cloud suite.
- As stated we have already attempted to reset preferences then close, then restart application.
is there another method we can try?

I should also note, that in lightroom it is stating that i am offline, although i'm connected to a wired internet connection

I haven't heard a reply to this question form anyone in a long time, is this being worked on or is there a fix?
