Two separate issues below:

  1. f4v file can it be salvaged?(we can provide logs and file if need be)
    • running flvcheck we get:
      • moof/traf/trun/ 84
      • moof/traf/tfhd/ 28
      • moof/traf/trun/ 596
      • moof/traf/trun/ 84
      • moof/traf/tfhd/ 28
      • moof/traf/trun/ 28
      • Memory Overhead: 64698 bytes
      • 14-09-18 10:50:19 BPH0_new.f4v passed
    • the f4v file is 725,876 KB  its supposed to be 56:55  in a player duration reads 10:01 and will only play up to that point.
    • Is there anything else that can be done to salvage the file?

  2. Recorded files not matter which type/codec. results in 0kb file size:
(this issue has been happening in all known versions of AMS since 4.5 on Windows)
    • inconsistent issue, 1 in 15, with files(*any type, f4v,flv audio or video)
    • during a live recording,  0kb file size is produced.
    • The streams transmits fine to all connected users.
    • having the user stop and start/append doesn't resolve the issue
    • using different record applications (*all using netstream.publish()) doesn't resolve the issue

any Ideas?

Acknowledged...Can you please log a bug with AMS...if you provide exact and correct steps to reproduce, the bug might get addressed in next release of AMS.The more clear the steps to reproduce are, the better is the chance of it getting fixed.

Just created a bug for #2.

#1 has not been as consistent, so filing a bug would have much less info... is there anything we can do with the file in the meantime?

There is a tool called f4vpp availabel on http://www.adobe.com/in/products/adobe-media-server-family/tool-downloads.html

The actual download location is http://www.adobe.com/go/fms_tools_samples/

You can try your luck with this "Adobe F4V Post Processor" tool.

Feedback Report            : ******BUG******

Concise problem statement:

File gets corrupted, this has happened with both video or just audio, over a long period of live recording.  The stream is sent via netstream.append and all users can play subscribe without issue.  however upon playback the file is only partially able to play back. and in many cases the file size is grossly oversized

Steps to reproduce bug:

1.record a stream to FMS using flash player

2. after an 1hr of recording stop publishing the stream

3. wait 20 seconds and append the stream and let it publish for 19mins then stop for 20...continue to do this till you hit a 2.5hr mark.

Results: Some recordings will work as expected while 1 in 15  the file will play upto a random time without playing the full duration. The file size is also much greater than an equivalent file playing for the same duration

Expected results:

The file should play the full duration and the file size shouldn't be so drastically larger than a file that recorded the same equivalent time.
