Hi Folks...
I am trying to download FMS 3.5 free version but have run into problems.I logged into my account and was brought to
the download page. I made my selection in the dropdown list: "|English | Windows | 274.0 MB|" I than clicked on the
Download button.....nothing happens.... I don't even get the 'allow temp popups' or 'activeX' download messages..what
is happening? Is there any setting I must change on my browser, the problem happens with IE, Firefox and Chrome...Hope someone can advise.
Thanks guys
Hi JavalsLife
Yes you can use the Flash Media Development Server for internal development purposes. Once you decide to move the application you built into production to earn some revenue, thats when you should be using the licensed FMS .

The security settings on your browser maybe preventing the download of the installer.
For IE you may want to try going to Tools > Internet Options -> Security tab -> click custom level
Check if the option "Launching applications and unsafe files" is disabled. You could set it Prompt. Restart the browser and try again.
You may want to revert back this setting on IE after the download is completed to retain your original security settings.
Thanks

As for the Flash Media Server, you don't even need the Adobe ID to download it, moreover when you do get it "officially", chance are it's not of the latest version. Use the latest updater (3.5.4) to get it, it's the same thing.

Hi Petro...
Thanks for the message...It worked. I have managed to download the software. I was wondering, do I really need the paid version of the Interactive media server for development? I was thinking of doing the application with just the free version since it has all the features of the the Interactive version, and no expiry date. The only limitation is I can only have 10 simultaneous users, and since I am doing the development for now, I am thinking of sticking to the free version. If the developed product has some potential or I eventually want to deploy on a customer end than I can move for the paid version. Also besides the limitation of '10 simultaneous users' as mentioned in the adobe website, is there any 'hidden' limitation? Hope somebody can advise me on these matters. Thanks guys...

Hi Varamamata, what if the FMDS is used to only showcase the commercial app, but the server is not used directly to serve the app that people pay/paid for?
