Can I still fix my website?

Hello,

so basically a person made my website using Adobe Muse and muse-themes (I've discovered this by looking at the code.)

I need to just fix a couple of documents which are on my website, they are expired I just need to put in the new ones.

The problem is that the person who made it says this cannot be done because the software no longer exists.

I've been reading some info on this discontinued software but the situation isn't very clear to me, so my question is: is this true? If not, what do I need to make this small change to my website?

Do I need to get an Adobe membership and/or a muse-themes one? Would it be possible to access to Muse with this person's account/credentials and do it from there?

Of course we would like to re-make the website completely with a different method but at the moment our priority is just to fix this issue.

Hi Roberta,

The software exists but is now no longer supported by Adobe.

You will get help in this forum but typically nowhere else.

If you had a full Adobe CC subscription you would have access to Muse.

You would then need the Muse file and assets that the person who created it made.

You could then edit the changes and if you have the hosting service credentials

you could then publish the changes.

Without the Muse file, you are in great difficulty.

If the person who made it still has access to Muse, the easiest route would be

to ask / pay them to do it.

A full Adobe CC subscription is quite a cost if this is all you require.

Most importantly, if your do subscribe to Muse, you must plan to move away

from Muse once this change is effected.

No support for problems which will arise as browsers continue to develop.

Hi @Roberta0101,

Yes, Muse is EOL since March last year and has not been updated in approx 3 years.  It's indeed unfortunate for you that your web designer chose to use outdated Muse to create your site.   IMO, a full Creative Cloud subscription is too costly for just Muse which is no longer fit for purpose.  Don't throw good money after bad for Muse.  It's not worth it.

You can download FREE FileZilla S/FTP client to get the native files from your remote sever and then use a real code editor to make changes, assuming you understand how to work with HTML, CSS and JavaScript code.   Then re-upload changed files with FileZilla.

Failing that, rebuild the site with another web authoring system.  Or hire a more experienced developer to create a CMS site for you to use.
