Hello! First time poster. I've tried to find some answers before posting this but most of the posts I found were several years old.
I made a muse website for a client.
My hope is for him to be able to edit text and images using in browser editing.
However, I have been unable to upload via FTP through Muse.
Some trouble shooting I have done:
I have tried uploading using an FTP client, in this case Cyberduck, and I was able to upload successfully. So I assume my server name, user name and passwords are in order.
I have tried a variety of options on the prompt screen when uploading through Muse and I get either a user name/password error OR a server error.
One perhaps important point is that after several failed attempts at uploading via FTP through muse, my ip address was then blocked when i tried to access mysite.com/cpanel. So clearly something did go through Muse FTP, my server perhaps rejected it, and then blocked my ip address.
I have seen a lot of talk about being "white listed" with your hosting provider for upload via FTP through Muse to work. Does that sound like the next step? If it is the next step, how exactly would I explain what I need my hosting provider to do on their end in order to allow my ip address to upload via FTP in Muse?
Thanks for reading my post and I apologize in advance for any lack of technical jargon. I'm basically using Muse because I am very unfamiliar with FTP and server management.
Many Thanks
Richard
