Gif won't play in Muse

I wanted to create an animated gif for a website I am creating. I got the frames to be layers, made them frames, edited the playback settings, and saved it properly. I literally followed tutorials step-by-step and had a functioning gif saved for web.

I put it in muse and it doesn't play in edit mode. I try preview-still not playing. Preview in the web, on a browser that supports and plays animated gifs, no go.

Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it, without paying for a widget? Is there a different file format I should try?

I've inserted the image to show that it works as an animated gif.

gif rules for web;

  • must be set to play forever
  • must be set as 'no resize' in Muse responsive breakpoint sites

I suggest you didn't do one of these two things
