What exactly do you mean be "disconnect" the Muse site from ftp? Delete it? You don`t want to upload with the "publish" button out of Muse? You want to maintain your site with something else than muse?

I did not mark the answer as correct. It was marked already when I was trying to reply to the previous answer. I made a new site for a client. The old one was built in Muse and hosted on a third-party host via FTP. I thought I might need to disconnect the old site from the previous host via Muse. Unless there is a different way of doing it. Thanks.

You don't need 2 sites, right?  You will need to delete the old site files from the old server and cancel that hosting plan.
