add a layer to your site and put a div (i.e, square or image) over the top of the iframe to hide the scroll

Isn´t it still scrollable although the scrollbar gets hidden? I would try to give that a little bit more space so it does not need scrolling.

yes it is still scrollable... he just wants to hide the extra bar from view

That´s why it seems helpful to me . But scrolling with more scrolling content is quite user unfriendly in my experience and it´s not that difficult to give a little more space at the top or/and the bottom to avoid this double scroll area, yet an alternative solution maybe .

it is possible the info in the iframe belongs to some other site (didn't check) but you yes you could have that on its own full page iframe and the site loads very slow as is so thats worth a try imo
