Hi all
Please help.. I've re-done this about 100 times now and cannot get the following code to work on anything other than the largest breakpoint of the site I am working on:
---------------START-------------------
<div id="bookatableWidget"></div>
<script>
var bookatableCom = function () {
var startUp = new neptuneStartUpService();
startUp.initialize({
customerId: 'XXXXXXX',
bookingSource: 'Website Booking',
buttonBackgroundColour: '#389bbe',
buttonFontColour: '#fff',
widgetBackgroundColour: '#fff',
widgetHeaderFontColour: '#fff',
modalHeaderBackgroundColour: '#2c393e',
modalHeaderFontColour: '#fff',
widgetTriangleColour: 'rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.5)',
iconFontColour: '#389bbe',
spinnerColour: '#389bbe',
linkFontColour: '#389bbe'
});
};
</script>
<script src="https://neptune-static.cl.bookatable.com/app/content/widgetInit.js"></script>
--------------------------END----------------------------
In safari it looks fine on largest breakpoint and gives no errors (same in other browsers), then in any other breakpoint the widget does not show.
Then on all other breakpoints I get the following (Widget does not appear) and the following errors. These are not just in Safari... before anyone blame it on the mac...
I've set the HTML in Muse to:
- Not responsive in position or size.
- copied the same size and location to all break points.
I cannot get the stupid thing to work and I am pulling my hair out.... someone please help 🙂
Sincerest thanks,
James

Do you know if they plan to latch this fault?
To be perfectly honest, I don't know. There have been various issues with widgets and breakpoints since a code change was made with version 2015.1. A couple of fixes were provided by the Muse team but haven't been 100% successful.

Unfortunately, this is down to the way Muse executes code, particularly third-party plugins. There is no real fix at the moment.

Hi David
Do you know if there is a bodge that I can use to work around this? Otherwise muse can’t be used as BookATable only works in widget form.

Currently, the only workaround is with a piece of code provided by the Muse team but that requires it to be added to a properly created Muse widget And there’s still no guarantee that it will work correctly.
I’ll give it a try tomorrow and see whether it works.

Thank you David
So no chance of some form of bodge then? I’ll have to ask BookATable if they have a work around.
Stupid Adobe, and they’ve temporally locked me out of all my sites due to them fudging an update to their system...
Thank you for your advice.

Hi James,
I’m going to see if I can ‘widgetise’ it to see if the fix code integration sorts it out. Watch this space.

Not good news, I'm afraid. I have tried many variations to get it to display across the breakpoints, all of them fail.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
