I'm not a website builder, I use Muse because it's supposed to be easy.

I have 2 websites built (tinkered together) with Muse hosted by different hosts.

www.barbaramorgenroth.com is fine

www.gabycooper.com doesn't work unless I type www.gabycooper.com/index.html

This isn't good.

I cleared the cache and that made no difference.

That's officially all I know how to do.  Someone, Ankush?, please help.

The simple answer is you have more than one default home page on your server.

  • index.html
  • index.htm (delete)
  • home.html (delete)

Delete the bottom 2 from your server and it should work fine.

There evidently is an address issue.

I can reach „gabycooper.com“ without index.html, but it seems to be a test site with nothing but the word „housing“.

The site „gabycooper.com/index.html has more content: „Pan loved flying“ and so on.

Thank you, Nancy!  You are a godsend!  So simple but I didn't know where to look/what to look for!

I don't know how (of course I don't!) the extra ones got there.

I was following a tutorial....

Your server might have had those extra files when you bought your hosting plan.
