I want to truncate text as the text container shrinks. At the moment it just increases the size of the text container, which is horrible for templates.
I'm sure this is super simple. I tried looking every for an answer.
Thanks for you help!

Yes, it's easy, but only if you know css.

Thanks! This is super helpful. That is the page properties, metadata tab right?
Edit* Sorry, just realized that's the graphic styles tab.

When I apply the style to the text box, nothing is happening?
I defined the style in the page properties menu and tagged .textBox
I set up a style called textBox
I've applied the style to the text box.
But its not doing anything?
What am I missing?

For clarity - it works in the browser but not inside the Muse. Inside the Muse, this can not be done. Did you check this in the browser? If yes and it do not work, I need screenshots. You must have just made a mistake somewhere.

Hmm... In the screenshot, everything is correct. Make a copy of the project containing only this page and provide it here, for example via DropBox.

Apparently you accidentally tied the entire page to a textBox. You need to click on the empty space and untie the page.
With a large number of manipulations, such as grouping, ungrouping, and so on, Muse adds css attributes to objects, which then does not delete. Such attributes must be redefined. Therefore, working with css, the code inspector in the browser should become your best friend. Find the problem attribute and redefine it in your code.
Here is the problem attribute:
If you turn it off, then everything works fine.
To redefine it, you need to change its value to neutral.
Then copy this line and paste it into your code, adding !important.

It took me a bit, but I totally understand what you are saying.
Thanks so much for you help!
