Image Resolution - Page Item Size is less than Resampled Asset Size for less than 2048 image

I am trying to place an image of size 2042 X 894 (Resolution: HiDPI 2x). The image placeholder size is 1021 X 447. So doubling up comes to 2042 X 894, less than 2048. It's a wider image.

From photoshop the image size shows -

This is what I see in Asset tab. The image gets reduced to 1532X671.

I dont get the 'Import Larger Image' option on the right-click.

How can I get the original resolution to be published?

This is the expected behavior of Muse.
