Image verification when site is hosted outside of BC

Hello. I am relatively novice... so be gentle. 😉 (print designer turned PT web designer).

I am making updates to a site that was created in muse but is hosted on my client's own server. ISSUE: The form on the contact page needs some sort of image verification to keep bots from spamming my client. (When I tried building the HTML form with CAPTCHA...I got the error message that it is only configured to work with BC.) Any suggestions on what I could use to rebuild the form? insert image verification in place of CAPTCHA? Simple terms please...I am not a programmer.
