Menu - How to move the drop down arrow?

Hi all, I have changed the image of my menu drop-down arrow as I found the arrow was practically off the menu button.  (Almost between the two buttons).  It was too far off the right side of my button.  Even though I have changed the icon, I'm finding the same is happening. 

How can I move my drop down icon so it will sit better within my button?  When I click on the icon and try and move it, it moves the whole menu.  yes, I am clicking directly on the icon.  I clicked several times to get to it but it makes no difference.

Ok, somehow I managed to fix my issue.  Something to do with Item spacing.....I changed it to uniform spacing.
