Hi guys, I have a problem with an muse website. I created a mobile layout for the website, but unfortunately, if I open the site on different smartphones only the pc-version appears.

It is strange, because I enabled the "Redriction from Desktop-Button".

I would appreciate your help!

It looks OK to me.

Which devices are you having trouble with?

Hi Nancy, thanks for your help.

I tried it on iphone 11 and samsung galaxy a3.

I know it shows a mobile layout, but not the correct one.

The link should be

http://www.housecoach.eu/2020/phone/index.html

but it will be directed to the the Deskatoplink:

thank you for your help!

It seems, you created a responsive as well as a adaptive site which is not recommended at all, because where should the browser know, which version to show? This adress:  http://www.housecoach.eu/2020/phone/index.html is not necessary because this one should be enough:  http://www.housecoach.eu/2020/index.html

It is recommended to use responsive only - means - make your mobile breakpoint design as you like and you should be pretty much fine.

Kind Regards,

Uwe

the problem is muse responsive layouts are not fixed in the browser. unfortunately my client doesn’t like that.

so I create an extra phone layout. muse does gives you the opportunity to do that and use a mix. if you have both, the phone layout will be always preferred, unless you havent used smaller braekpoints in your responsive layout than in your phone layout. so that is should not be the problem...

What do you mean? You want it fixed? Fix it. You don`t want it fixed? Make it fluid for mobile breakpoint like from 768 - add maybe one more breakpoint to your needs at around 500 to 550 or so, but it is - as you see - not recommended to mix, like I say.

Kind Regards,

Uwe

Uwe is correct.  You can't have it both ways.

Either build Responsively to fit ALL devices (preferred by most).  Or re-build Adaptively -- 1 fixed layout for desktop, 1 for tablet, one for mobile.

Unfortunately, clients are not always good decision makers.  It's up to you to educate them about what works best for their site visitors.
