Hello.

I am using a background image for a single page website. In Muse it appears in its full colour, but when previewed in browsers it appears faded - especially in Chrome.

Any ideas as to what I might be missing here?! In fact, it's so off that it looks like completely different colours!

Help would be much appreciated!

I'm on Windows 10 running Muse 2018.1.0.266

No. Could you give as a link or is it, that the site is not online yet?

Is it a hover/rollover effect? How did you create/use the fullscreen background image?

Kind Regards,

Uwe

I've added it as a page fill. I didn't apply any hover or rollover effects as far as I'm aware!

  • Is your image in CMYK instead of RGB?
  • Hs it a sRGB profile?

Yes! It was CMYK so I have saved it as RGB and that has helped! Though it now looks slightly faded even in Muse... but it at least matches when previewed. The colour profile is

The image colors should be the very same as your original (and this has always been the case, as long as I use Muse).

  • But you can check it:
  • Export your site as HTML.
  • Go to the exported „images“ folderan find your image.
  • Open it in Photoshop side by side to your original image and compare …

If you like, attach the image here and we will have a look.

When I do that, the two images look the same. I wondered if maybe it was Chrome being weird, but when I open the image file using Chrome it looks fine. Mind you.. they still look much less vibrant than the file used to... Which is strange!
