Hello,

I've tried this code:

<video width="320" height="240" controls>

   <source src="assets/services copy.mp4" type="video/mp4">

</video>

I can see the player, but the video file doesn't seem to be embedded.

Screen Shot 2018-09-06 at 22.38.04.png

I've tried several free third party widgets:

Screen Shot 2018-09-06 at 22.40.17.png

No luck, my video won't play.

I've compressed the video file from 14MB to 7MB and tried all of the above again - still no video.

I am using Muse CC 2018.0 release.

I have previewed both in page and site modes and yes, my video is under my assets folder.

I am truly stumped!  Does anyone out there have any suggestions for me as to how I can get my video going?

YouTube compresses videos to save bandwidth.  If you self-host video and your server supports the MP4 mime type, you can avoid using YouTube.  But you'll probably need to reduce the file size for a better user experience.

Hi Nancy,

That's for your suggestion.  I renamed the MP4 with no spaces, reattached the link, and still no video. Arghh!

Any other suggestions please?

It may be a bad MP4 file.  Can you upload your work to a server and post the URL?

Hi Nancy, thanks for being here

I have uploaded the video file to youtube, just to test it through one of the free widgets. It doesn't work through muse via the widget(s).

I'm not sure if this is important, but maybe it's worth mentioning.

My MacBook Pro (loyal for 7 years) died on me and I bought an iMac, loaded on all my usual software, but didn't consider, things like java, codecs, I dunno, could this be the problem?  Maybe it is all working, it's just that I am missing some utilities or something?Screen Shot 2018-09-07 at 18.52.04.png

I read your profile and you seem like a really intelligent and cool woman, so I would like to tell you that I really appreciate your time!

P.S. I live in Spain on the coast!  I liked your pic

OK.

Insert an HTML object into Muse and paste the following code.  Save and upload to your server to test.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vj6Io3UKrCo" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
