No top/bottom pinning for alternate mobile layout

All i see is the second pinning menu with the 3 options (left, centre, right)...

I can't seem to find the explanation for this.

Different mobile phones have different heights so I assume that having a certain distance from top/bottom should be important.

This might has to do with the recommendation to avoid pinning for mobile layouts.
