XD is neither a code editor nor a code generator.  It's merely a prototyping tool of no particular value to individuals.  XD is aimed at large agencies who prototype and then hand off to skilled coders for project completion.

In theory, you could open Muse generated HTML, CSS and JS files in Dreamweaver or any other decent code editor.  But unless you understand code and more specifically the code Muse generates  for you, it won't be much help.

No, only Muse can open a .muse file. XD is "something like Muse" without the export/publish feature - some users did just the prototyping in Muse.

Kind Regards,

Uwe

It would be best to start over and rebuild your site with other tools.

Nancy has given a thorough answer.

I agree that Muse and XD do different things. If you have a Muse website and want to update it with another tool, I'd also suggest starting over and rebuilding with a tool that best aligns to your skills and preferences.
