The "redefine selected style from attributes" button is disabled so I am unable to edit any styles. Why would this happen?

Did you change the style before? If not, the button is of course disabled.

The workflow is this:

  • You have an element, to which a style is applied.
  • You now change some attributes of this element manually.
  • If you now open a styles panel (paragraph, character, graphic style), you'll see a "+" behind the style's name, indicating, that the style was modified for this specific object.
  • In exactly this situation the "Redefine Style" button is enabled and you may redefine the style, what means, to take over the modifications, you made manually, into the style's definition.
