Scale to fill image in rectangle works in design view, not in Preview or Browser view

A rectangle on page between header and footer, use Scale to fill image in that rectangle.  Looks OK in Design View; fails in Preview (Muse), and Preview in Browser. Image truncates in last two views, does not fill the area between Header and Footer--black background shows, and image is half as tall as it should be.  Thanks !

If I understand correctly, you are talking about the option in the „Fill“ dialog: This option deals with the filling behaviour of the image within its container. This has nothing to do with the cintainer filling the page.

A rectangle can be set to stretch browser wide, but not to 100% height.

If you want this,

  • use a browser fill, or
  • use a fullscreen sliedshow with only one image.
