Hey,

I manage a website made on Adobe Muse and currently I will translate it into 2 more languages (the main language is Bulgarian, the new languages will be English and German). To create the site in another 2 languages will export the translated site into a new folder /en and /de.

My question is whether I use the main sitemap for Google Search Console or upload all three?

If I have to use the main map of the site, what should I add it to:

  <url>

    <loc>http://www.afc11-bg.com/en/</loc>

    <xhtml:link rel="alternate" hreflang="de" href="http://www.afc11-bg.com/de/"/>

    <xhtml:link rel="alternate" hreflang="en" href="http://www.afc11-bg.com/en/"/>

  </url>

  <url>

    <loc>http://www.afc11-bg.com/de/</loc>

    <xhtml:link rel="alternate" hreflang="en" href="http://www.afc11-bg.com/en/"/>

    <xhtml:link rel="alternate" hreflang="de" href="http://www.afc11-bg.com/de/"/>

  </url>

Sorry for bad english

you can upload all the sitemaps (which in your case is 3, one for each languages).

in future if you add new language you can add that too to your uploaded kitty.

This way you let robots know to traverse through different links.

Moreover you have modularised your sitemaps to specific languages, which may turn out to be good from maintenance point of view.

I would send all 3 to Google if you feel the site will get traffic but just 1 if it will be a placeholder with only the odd post | hit
