I'm returning to an old project to edit. Currently, every page is showing the default fallback font. I have installed the fonts needed, but it doesn't automatically update to the web fonts used in the page designs. I can see what fonts are designated for each heading and paragraph. I'm installing the exact same fonts I used previously, using typekit, but the fonts remain in default. I would think once the font is installed, it would be recognized, like in other adobe applications. Only way I see to fix this is to reset all type by selecting the webfont, bit by bit. This would take many hours, as there are many pages and breakpoints to edit!

Fixed the web font issue. I had defiend character and paragraph styles. Once I redefined 1 page with the correct webfont, it fixed itself across the entire site. Still, it's a bit strange that it didn't recognize the newly installed web font with the same name.

I think a much better question is "why are you still using Muse which is EOL & unsupported?"
You should have migrated your project to another web solution by now.

Yes, I'm aware of that, but the client just wants a simple site update, not a whole site migration. Pinegrow looks good—I didn't know about that one. I'm currently using Wix for other sites, and I do not like it.

Use Muse at your own risk and don't complain when things break / don't work. Nobody is fixing Muse. It is what it is.
If you don't like Wix, learn to work with code. Read chapters, do code exercises and take quizzes at the end. Only then will you be fully liberated from reliance on any particular web authoring software or system. With coding skills, you really can use ANY plain text / code editor you like.
