Hi dear community, as been asked below, i allow myself to add that result that i am getting for already 3 days in a row. Always the same blue canvas, on 3 different computers...
Same problem here. If I make a selection in quickmask mode with a densitiy of 30% in the current stable version of Photoshop 2024 it work fine and produces the desired result. If I do the same in the current PhotoShop Beta version it produces only a blue glass like effect. Same blue result with every image I tried.
Hi Cory! I sure hope you have given this top priority in Photoshop Beta as that is the version I work with and I use this Generative fill Oil Painting trick all the time so Please let me know when it is fixed in the BETA asap. Thanks, Robyn
Changing the layer opacity to 30% is something different. A selection with an opacity of 30% should allow Generative Fill to "see" down to the layer below.
It will noth work. Creating painting using generative fill . this no longer works ..to create an painting from a photo. It still works in the non beta version .
I've tried to use past versions of Photoshop, and those don't work either. I'd recommend to anyone who uses this techinique, don't update the software. It breaks the effect completely. I am going to try to uninstall Photoshop completely, then download an older version to see if it works. Maybe it's a separate Ai engine that is updated independently? Please fix this, Adobe. This was one of the nicest additions, and too quickly taken away.
I had Photoshop version 25.11 installed (Windows) and installed each older version down to 25.7. Each version gave me the same error. Just a screen full of badly done watercolor flowers, not the watercolor effect on my original image as hoped. Really irritating. My version at work is newer (25.9) and still works.
