P: Lightroom Classic>Edit in PS: Long Delay+Erroneous Error Message opening Ps Beta 2024 25.0

I just recently updated Photoshop Beta to 2024 v25.0 on my Windows 11 machine.

Now when I try to open photos from LR 12.4 using the "edit in...", it hangs up for a time and then comes up saying "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop 2024 could not be launched."

When I hit "Ok" it then opens the file in Photoshop 2024.

This happens with every file, even if Photoshop 2024 is already up and running at the time.

This does not happen with 2023 v24.7.

Greetings all,

Lightroom Classic 12.5 released this evening.  If used in conjunction with PS Beta 25.0 or later, this erroneous error message plus long open wait time should be mitigated. Please install LrC 12.5 and make certain that your Beta is up to date.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Hi, when I use Lightroom and select photo to edit in Photoshop 2024 ( Beta) , Beta launches onto home screen and file doesn't show up in edit screen. A few mins later error display on Lightroom  says Photoshop 2024  can't launch, then another error says can't edit file in Photoshop . I acknowledge the errors and the file is then opened up in Photoshop 2024 beta  and a tiff is prepared in Lightroom , and then all is ok

All latest updates are applied, I didn't have this issue till the last two Beta Photoshop updates, it was ok before

Hello. I'm on lightroom. I want to modify my retouched photo from lightroom to photoshop, i.e. the function "open as a dynamic object in photoshop" or "modify in adobe photoshop 2024". Before I could do it. For 2 days now I can't do it all. It gives me this message: "The file has not been modified because Adobe Photoshop could not be launched". Another error message: "Ligtroom was unable to prepare the file selected in G:\......filename.....ARW for editing. It will not be opened. How can I solve my problem?

bonjour.

Here the same issue. I now pull the photo from the filmstrip straight inside PS-beta 2024 and it will open immediatly in Camera Raw, so don't work first in LRC. Save your edit and synchronise your liberary afterwards. It gives the possibility to work faster then waiting to open a photo through LRC.

I have the same problem. The only thing that worked for me was to open the photos as a smart object.

Wenn choosing "Edit in Photoshop Beta, edit a copy with lightroom adjustments", I get the following error message: "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop (Beta) could not be launched." In some cases the file is openede after a while in Photoshop. Editing original works as expected. Occasionally some error message with something like "error returned, input not valid" (or similar) is shown additionally,

That works only if the image has been previously edited in Beta PS.

I sometimes see the warning. If I manage to open an image in beta PS and come back to LR Lightroom then says it can't open it and changes my edited file in either version of PS to an unedited one. That is Messed Up! I lose my edits unless I do a save as in PS before closing PS beta or PS regular and going back to Lightroom then synchronize to get it into LR.

When I open a photo from LR Classic to PS, I am receiving an error that says that it is unable to locate PS 2024. After about 5 min, it will then open? 😊

Open your Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app and go to BETA APPS.  Check to your right the button and the 3 dots.  Go over the dots and hit OTHER VERSIONS.  Now you may choose a previous one.

Since the latest update, it takes 5-10 minutes to open a photo to edit from lightroom in photoshop beta. It just runs, then comes up with an error that says photoshop can't launch (already open) then after clicking to confirm the issue, it opens the image about 20-30 seconds later anyway

MAC Ventura 13.4.1 C

Right click in lightroom - choose edit in photoshop beta - eventaully happens, but takes like 10 minutes with an error photoshop won't launch, but it's already open

I just installed the latest upgrade of photoshop beta V 25 and now it is not opening files from lightroom. I have to try at least 3 to 4 times and then it opens the file for edition after 2 or 3 mns but with a message in lightroom saying that the process failed.
Is there a fix to that?

Thanks
