That's the Embroidery effect. Do you see the Parametric Properties panel (as on the left of my screen shot)? You might just need to change the settings to see a difference.
From what I remember reading in the forum, and my own experience. The Parametric filters eith work, or they crash Photoshop. I don't remember seeing any 'Nothing Happens' threads. Along with the Neural Filters, Parametric Filters are very hard on system resources, and older low spec systems have not been doing well with them. What is your computer's specifications?

When I try to run any parametric filter in Photoshop Beta (the version I currently have is 26.4 m.2951), all it does is duplicate the active layer and convert it into a smart object. But it doesn't do anything else. It doesn't matter what type of file it is: .nef, .svg, .png, .psd, .jpg...

Sorry for late reply, I am on 26.4 now. It still doesn't work on my 2019 macbook (2.4 quad-core intel i5, 16gb ram) but does on my 2024 work macbook (m1 pro, 32gb ram). I am starting to think it is hardware issue?
Creates new layer that is empty with smart filter applied
I've tried to use the Embroidery parametric filter in Photoshop Beta 26.4 on two different MacBook Pro's, one running Sonoma and one running Sequoia, and I'm having the same issue on both machines.
I have my image as a smart object layer selected, and open up the Parametric Filters panel no problem. When I click "Embroidery," it starts to create a new smart object layer as it also opens the parametric properties, but then the new layer is blank. If I try to direct select it, I get a message saying "Warning: No pixels are selected," but if I double click it, it opens up just like a normal smart object with the art inside.
I've been searching for answers for two days and nothing is working. I've tried this on multiple machines, with different files, and am getting the exact same problem everytime. Please help me before I straight up rip my laptop in half.
In Photoshop Beta, all parametric filters work except for the Embroidery effect. The settings are correct, and the effect has worked before, but it no longer functions.
I have already tried reinstalling Photoshop Beta, but the issue persists. Interestingly, the effect still works on my work computer, so the problem does not seem to be related to my Adobe account.

i have uninstalled Photoshop beta mulitple times. I restarted and updated my computer ( mac book pro ) and when i try to use the parametric filters nothing happens even though it says it created a copy, the layer is blank. moments when it did work after resetting my preferences on Ps all the filters came out glitched. how can i fix this issue.
I'm experiencing an issue with the Embroidery effect in the Parametric Filters section of Photoshop Beta. The problem started after I attempted to create a preset. Now, this is the only effect I can't use.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far to fix it:
Uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop Beta twice, and once using the removal tool.
Despite all this, the issue persists. My hardware is more than sufficient for Photoshop, and everything worked fine until I tried to create a preset.
Right now, the effect is still visible as an icon, but clicking it does nothing. Photoshop doesn’t crash or show an error—it simply doesn’t activate the effect. I’ve tested this on all resolutions (in an 8-bit project file).
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Is there any official fix or workaround?
The parameter filters in the Photoshop beta are not all applicable. Only layers are added. You can't convert it to a bitmap. I can't wait to try the embroidery function. You can't install the Photoshop beta differently. You cannot delete it and reinstall it. I updated the graphics card performance, but it still doesn't work. I hope to fix the bug as soon as possible. As in the attached image, only layers are added when changed to embroidery.

Steps to Reproduce:
Open Photoshop and create or import an image.
Go to Filters → Parametric Filters.
Select the Embroidery effect.
Click "Apply."
Expected Result: The embroidery effect should be applied to the selected layer, generating the corresponding visual appearance.
Actual Result: Instead of applying the effect, Photoshop simply duplicates the layer without any visible changes.

Other effects within the parametric filters seem to work correctly.
Parametric filters just create a smart object without showing any layers , the parametric properties dont show any information. In fact when i open the parametric properties after clicking on a parametric filter there is message "Select a layer that contains a Parametric filter to view and edit its properties". i cant find a way to make theme work. A smart object and that's all.
Tento aplicar os filtros parametricos mas ele só copia a camada como objeto inteligente e não alica o filtro, infelizmente fui informado pelo suporte que é um proplema da verção e que terei de esperar para usar os filtros
