Photoshop Beta: Opening a Photo as a Smart Object

Hi,
I can't open a photo as a smart object.
Photoshop freezes during the conversion.

P.S.:

It seems paradoxical, but when I have previously opened a jpeg in Photoshop Beta, then I can open a smart object from Lightroom or directly from a file.

I'm glad someone else has found the identical problem which I posted about 15 hours previously. Hopefully Adobe will issue a patch to address this issue @CShubert ?
