Entire Folders being Engaged when single layer is Selected to move or resize?

Since about 2 PS Beta updates ago I began experiencing a very irksome BUG that activates the entire FOLDER when a nested layer is selected on the screen - not the layers panel.  I am a 10+ year user of PS and the beauty in a WYSIWYG software is being able to directly select an asset on the design and edit it, I easily got used too - and greatly appreciate - the update that reveals an item as you hover over the various layers, but a few updates after this update, I would click on that highlighted layer (even at times removing visibility of layers in front to be able to select the layers in the back of it) and the bezier ctrl+t handles appear, but upon clicking to move THAT SPECIFIC ELEMENT, every thing in that folder moves!  Then I gotta engage 49 extra microinteractions just to go back and and be forced to FIND and SELECT that layer.

THIS IS VERY INCONVENIENT.  Please fix this and release my layers PLEASE.
